Not well written...

I appreciate this is free..but seriously the cooking times are not possibly correct..In fact 4hrs to bake meatballs? Or preheat cooking oil in a skillet and marinate the chicken for 1 hr? Thinking you would have a problem if you did not know better....so you better know how to cook and hopefully the Ingriedients and measurements are better..

About the Author
Myhan spent his childhood in a suburb of Los Angeles known as Santa Clarita. He spent his youth playing sports, enjoying the outdoors, and reading books. In elementary school he participated in an event called young authors day. After he wrote his first short story, he knew that’s all he wanted to do. He spent the remaining years learning the craft of story telling and learning to solve the puzzles he called stories. Myhan continued to California State University of Northridge where he studied screenwriting and fine tuned his skills and creating memories he would use to spark his creativity. Myhan works on finding new ways to make people smile with the words he writes.

Looking forward to next book in the series

I purchased this book because of a recommendation from a friend. I'd describe the book as very well thought out, detailed, and possibly intended for a young audience...possibly young adult. It was a page turner indeed. Initially, the book starts off slow describing the setting and introducing key characters allowing the reader to become familiar with potential plot twists. You get introduced to the main character, Kyle. He is very likable and relatable. I found myself being a champion to his cause and empathize with him as he faces the many obstacles placed in his path. As we pass the slow bits, we get introduced to more characters and the plot thickens. Each character that the author places in the book seems to ignite emotion in the reader. I found myself loathing certain characters and loving others. I was captivated by the vivid descriptions and the little details placed. The author places enough foreshadowing in the book to make the reader anxious, yet leaves some haze for the needed mystery. Pros -Great plot, great characters, and doesn't end at one book. Cons - Slow start and the other books to the series aren't written yet to read. Overall, I'd say this book is a perfect read for someone who's looking for an easy read, likes dragons and sword play, and is patient enough to wait for the rest of the series.Books that may compare are Eragon - and to an extent -The Hobbit and Harry Potter.

If you like to read fantasy books

This book takes you on a journey through a land that you would not have imagined on your own. Kyle, the protagonist, is strong and capable and takes his readers on a journey through a land of dragons, dwarves and leprechauns following a boat wreck when he finds himself stranded and away from his father. If you like to read fantasy books, similar to Hunger Games and stories of dragons, you will fall in love with this book and have a hard time putting it down. I would recommend this book to all age groups. Once you start reading, you won't stop. It's EXCELLENT..

This is a FANTASTIC read!!! You won't be able to put it down! Great story and even more amazing characters. It's a great coming of age tale with a new twist on the classics. Every character is so thoughtfully put out there, you feel that horrible sense when the book ends; a piece of you ends with it. If you liked The Maze Runner, Hunger Games, classic Peter Pan, Game of Thrones etc, you with adore this one! Cannot wait until the next book!

An old classic comic book ad booklet sold by the late John Keenan, alias, Count Dante.

This small 72 page booklet with a fold-over cover and loose pages used to be sold by the late controversial John Keenan, who gave himself the name and title of Count Dante. The only reason I gave a 5 star rating was because of its historical value. It was published in 1968 by Dante's Black Dragon Fighting Society. It claims to contain the "Worlds Deadliest Fighting Secrets." In reality, it only covers about 4 different attack counters. This booklet covers information on the author's world karate federation, the black dragon fighting society, information about Count Dante, short comings in present day fighting systems, vital areas of the body with charts, Dim Mak time table with charts, poison hand techniques, which shows various striking methods. It also has a few self-defense techniques, showing the author using multiple striking techniques for each of the four attacks, which the author calls "the dance of death." There is a section covering stunt breaking and finally, the last section which has Count Dante Photos.

In conclusion, you will not learn how to fight reading this booklet, but if you are into the historical aspects of an early controversial martial artist, you may want to get a copy of this collectors item.

Extremely Poor Quality Reproduction of a Classic Book.

I had previously purchased a well made bootleg copy of The World's Deadliest Fighting Secrets and looked forward to buying a professional reproduction of this book. The sneak peek of the insides of the book provided by Amazon showed crisp pictures and looked well made. What was inside the actual book though, was an extremely unorganized mess! The photos are faded and unclear,are pasted next to the text,and actually over top of many of the words. Unbelievably, the poor quality photos are not even located on the appropriate text or numbered as they were in the original so someone who does not have access to an original copy would not know what they are reading. This is the most amateurish book I have ever seen and I am not surprised the publishers have no more copies available.Editor in charge of layout of this 2013 copy from Rising Sun Productions is Annette Hellingrath. I am assuming I can blame her for this mess since she could not even follow the simple layout of the original publication.

Promises alot but offers very little. The original over the top ads made it sound like the greatest thing since sliced bread in the way of self defence, but its not really a book anyway.....more of a thick pamphlet.

Fake ninja Ass-ida Kim made illegal copies which were basically photcopied paper stapled together, William Aguiar (dec.) brought out another edition but not showing the hands of John Keehan (Count Dante) but his own.

The hand strikes are basically kung fu/kempo type stuff, some which would be effective in the street but goes into the realms of fantasy with descriptions of "tearing the face open".........I have the feeling that film maker Floyd Webb who has had a Dante doco in the making for a few years now is involved in this venture (?)

Original format came out about 1968 so probably written earlier, if keen enough to buy then treat it as just a part of history. Just wait for some pre loved copy comes along with a better price tag.

This cookbook is now a family favorite!!!

While the intended audience for this cookbook may be those that follow a Paleo Diet, I am only on a gluten and dairy free diet, but I am so grateful that I found this book. I am not a great cook or planner by any means, and planning out meals overwhelms me. I have 3 boys and trying to plan food they will like on top of my food allergies is a nightmare. I have tried looking around on the internet or in other cookbooks but most meal plans are incomplete and only give you dinners or have a lot of blank days. This book has a meal planned out for every day for an entire month, and even tells you how to add bulk to each meal if you need more food. The shopping lists are perfect and organized by where in the store you will find everything. There’s even room to write in other items if you need them.

With this book I have been able to make 2 weeks’ worth of delicious meals already, and my boys (aged 4-13) have all loved every single thing we have eaten. That has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! The author understands how to make food taste good for both kids and adults without it being complicated. The pork ragout, orange salmon and lemon and thyme chicken thighs are a new favorite in my family. I also learned some good cooking tips that I didn’t know before, such as why chicken skin sticks to the pan. My oldest son is my pickiest eater and even he has been flipping through the book and asking for me to cook him things. My younger son drank a smoothie with avocado in it last week and loved it. He won’t go anywhere near an avocado usually.

This cookbook has been such a blessing for my family and it has made my weeks so much easier. There’s no more worrying about food and no more fighting at the dinner table about not wanting to eat the food I cooked. Thank You.

So many good recipes

I have been doing paleo for 6 months. I am down 32 pounds and never feel deprived of food Or flavor. I have been following Amy's blog since the beginning. I love her recipes and personality so I knew I had to get her book. It does not disappoint and I am enjoying reading through her stories and cooking advice as much as I am enjoying the food. This is by far my favorite cookbook and I own many.

Fun and practical book

I agree with the previous reviewer, this book is a lot more fun than the cover would lead you to believe. I have some things I think are absolute requirements for a good cookbook, and this book has all of those and then some:

Photo for every single recipe
Easy to open and KEEP open on the counter
Clear instructions and steps for every recipe
Explanations for why and how to use techniques or steps
Approachable recipes that offer variety without having hard to find ingredients
Unique and engaging author voice that really shines through and makes me want to actually read the book
The photo index in the back is a total bonus and I love it

Only thing I would change would be to have the meal plans and shopping lists be pull out pages, but I actually just made a few copies of them at work and then I didn't have to rip out the pages from the book.

Finally, a book that confirms my adjustments and more!

I give it a 5 star for the 'intended audience'. If you've read all the 'older' Harrington books, 'Theory' books, etc., can hold your own in a 'home game' but cannot believe you're barely ahead of the others who you know play just 'ok' or badly, this book can really help you. For several years the 'older' books worked for me (basically play tight and be patient). That will still work against like-minded play, but it is boring as hell and you're leaving a LOT on the table. When my win rate slipped, I knew I needed an adjustment, and was getting frustrated while trying different 'plays'. This book basically tells you how to open your game up by being aware of situations and players, then 'playing the players' while still playing solid hands ('solid' for different situations, that is). The book is geared toward playing "exploitable" poker which works VERY well at most small stakes games. It does NOT work against very good players who know how to counteract those strategies and who are "aware" of what's actually going on at the table'. Thing is, if you do play at higher level games, you will be able to adjust (I think. I'm not there yet. ;-) ) I know I'll never play at the higher stakes games anyway, so mastering these concepts work for me. Many of the concepts I already had implemented, but it is good to have a 'framework' to fall back on and it helps to see where improvement is needed. Also, if nothing else, it confirms that the adjustments I already made from 'standard play' to win at low stakes were correct. When you deviate from what you learned as 'correct play' you wonder if it is a leak in your game even when the results seemed positive. It was nice to see in print that I was actually doing it right in many cases ! Yes, there is more variance in this method of play, but not all that much and it works MUCH better and is more fun than just playing ABC poker.

If you are looking to better your game

If you are looking to better your game, I can't think of a better teacher then Jonathan Little. I have read quite a few books on Texas holdem (no need to list and bad mouth other authors) and none of them have explained concepts as easy as Jonathan little does. I only play small stakes cash games so it was great to finally read something that is geared specifically for the stakes I play. Im not concerned with learning the secrets of ultra high stakes poker players (as of yet anyways) because I don't play higher then a 1/2 no limit. Its amazingly easy to read, and the concepts and strategies discussed can be implemented immediately for quick results. I laugh to myself when I do the small adjustments He recommends only to see most players do exactly what he says they will do(things I have done in the past). I have struggled with being a winning player in poker for 13 years, that is going to change now. I have NEVER made it into the money at a casino tournament. Just after using a few of the strategies held in this book I booked my first cash. It was a small win, but none the less one that I have never experienced. Thats another point. This book is for cash games, But I find that many of the strategies discussed transfer over to tournament play as well. I cant wait to read his book on small stakes tournaments next! If you want to be a better player, buy this book. If you want to find leaks in your own game, buy this book. If you want to understand the thought process of winning players, BUY THIS BOOK!!! Also, google search Jonathan Little, and you will find a vast resource list of very affordable training information he offers. To the author, Thank you for writing this book.

Excellent advice in usable form fo the low stakes player.

This was a lot of insight on how to beat the low stakes. I didn't learn that much but then again I already do most of the things he says to do. And you really can't hear it too often anyway.

He makes some aggressive bluffs that I have yet to fully evaluate and though I follow the logic of his bet sizing advice, I can't quite agree with it. I just make too much from my big bets. (His sizing is fairly small, for low stakes buy hey, he's WAYYYY better than me so...)

The strength of this book is its conversational tone that makes it accessible to the people who will benefit from it. No long algebraic proofs, no multi-page explanations of the rare expectations.

So many poker books do this and it becomes an ironic situation where you have to be a good player to understand the explanation and if you are that good, you already know it!

Little is the best combination of great author and great player available today. Ed Miller writes very well too (and is my fav poker author) but lacks the undisputed winning credentials of Little.

If you know how to play but not how to win....if you are a winner but wonder why you're not winning more or if you are a solid winner but know that there is more money on the table than you're racking up at the end of the night this is the book for you. If you play mid-stakes or higher (5-10 or higher) you could skip this one.

Information is Presented in a Somewhat Disjointed Manner...

Nonetheless, Merriman, one of the "old heads" of Goju Karate in the United States, does dedicate a chapter to demonstrating the Kata for which he is famous, Seiunchin Kata. Most of the information presented here struck me as magazine articles collected into a book. Merriman offers chapters on supplementary exercises, training drills (1-and-2 man), Kumite techniques, refereeing signals, basic skills (right vs. wrong), and the kata Seiunchin. At 91 pages, this book was not intended to be an exhaustive referrence on Goju Ryu Karate. If you're a fan of Kata, or have an interest in any of the other subjects this book briefly covers, it probably won't disappoint. This isn't a badly done book, although I found the organization of the chapters was poor. This little volume is a fair supplement for Goju Ryu stylists, or those with an interest in active competition. I was disappointed that Merriman, with his many years of knowledge and experience, didn't take the opportunity to provide a thorough autobiography--he IS one of the oldest Goju stylists in the West.
