OHMYGOD ITS PERFECT!!!! My whole life, I have been obsessed with baking. Whether it was cookies, cakes, or even pudding, I knew how to make it from scratch. I have tons of cupcake recipe books, and I have even made up a few recipes. However, most books tell me to use cake mix and then add a few things. I found it very frustrating that every book would say "Use vanilla cake mix and stir in..." Also, most of those recipes were very simplistic and boring. This book has a variety of exotic recipes, but includes all of the traditional ones as well. The book has a few typos, but it is fairly easy to figure out what it was meant to say for the most part.

I need a cookbook for the new electric pressure cookers, these recipes are really worthless and they don't list everything you need in the ingredients. One recipe actually called for 2 cups of nutmeg... Are you serious?!? Not explained step by step directions, more all over the place directions. Buyer beware!

I was truly curious when I purchased this cookbook. I have quite a collection of cookbooks so I added to my collection when I purchased this one. However, I never knew you could cook so many things in a pressure cooker. I always thought they were for canning. This book contains recipes from breakfast dishes to dinner dishes and more. All very easy recipes and cook quickly to ensure that your meal is on the table in less time than traditional cooking methods. I highly recommend this book for those who want to cook meals at home but don't have a lot of time to do it. Now I need to put an electric pressure cooker on my wish list! :)

Never knew that you can cook using the pressure cooker to cook other meals, aside from using it to make the meat tender. But wow seriously, the author really put an effort into making these recipes. I mean, you can make a cheesecake using a pressure cooker? Just wow. Aside from the recipes using pressure cooker, there are also other recipe books that are available especially for the health conscious. The book has many bonus cooking books that you would like to read and try out the recipes included.

For a very affordable price, you get so much for what you paid for. This is a recommended recipe book. Must buy.

About the Author
Andrew Greig was born and brought up in Scotland. Imagine yourself, armchair climber that you invariably are, being invited by a well respected mountaineer to join an expedition to the Karakoram Himalayas to write a book about the experience. What would you do?

Well, if you are like Andrew Greig, notwithstanding lack of climbing experience, you find the invitation hard to resist, especially since the mountaineer who invites you, Mal Duff, is personally willing to put you through the paces on some of the local peaks to help you get into the groove of climbing. Before you know it, you find yourself on expedition in the Karakoram Himalayas headed to the Mustagh Tower.

This book is the author's account of how he found himself on a high altitude climbing expedition, what he did to train and get in shape for it, what he did when he got there, and what his perceptions were, as a former arm chair climber, of the expedition experience and climbing at high altitude.

Imagine yourself, arm chair climber that you invariably are, being invited by a well respected mountaineer to join an expedition to the Karakoram Himalayas to write a book about the experience. What would you do?
Well, if you are like Andrew Greig, notwithstanding lack of climbing experience, you find the invitation hard to resist, especially since the mountaineer who invites you, Mal Duff, is personally willing to put you through the paces on some of the local peaks to help you get into the groove of climbing. Before you know it, you find yourself on expedition in the Karakoram Himalayas headed to the Mustagh Tower.
This book is the author's account of how he found himself on a high altitude climbing expedition, what he did to train and get in shape for it, what he did when he got there, and what his perceptions were, as a former arm chair climber, of the expedition experience and climbing at high altitude.
His account is gritty, realistic, and he tells it the way he sees it, warts and all. Well written, it celebrates the roller coaster existence of being on a real live adventure ride that is the lot of expeditioners everywhere.

Interesting idea, unevenly written

The idea behind Summit Fever sounds promising - a writer with no climbing experience is invited to join a Himalayan expedition. Andrew Greig is given a few lessons on winter technique in Scotland and then it's off to the Karakoram with a motley crew of climbers and trekkers to tackle the Mustagh Tower, but money problems and discord nearly wreck the trip. There's enough here for a really good book, but the author quickly loses his writer's perspective in a growing desire to fit in with the 'bin-men'. I found the endless use of mid-80's British climbing scene slang tiresome (it's in almost every conversation once Andrew Greig reaches base camp), and instead of observing the climbers, Greig tries to think and feel the way they do, which tends to defeat the whole point of having a non-climber write about climbing. There are some highlights though, especially early on in the book when everything is a fresh experience for the author, and he sees the climbers through the eyes of a sympathetic and observant outsider.

3.Select and add the Paprikas and liquids
4.Select and prepare the supporting vegetables.
5.Adjust the supporting spices.
6.Serve.

I travel to Germany and Austria for business and I really enjoy a good Goulash. This is a very handy little book covering more versions of Goulash than I have ever dreamed existed or encountered in my travels. I like this book and appreciate that it gets right down to the business of cooking - direct cooling information so it is more meat than it is feathers.

Great endurance course!

Great endurance course! I'm glad I found this book, although I like running alone it's self, this definitely gave me a challenge. Combining what I love with obstacles is so fun. Gets my blood pumping, that initial adrenaline rush, especially if I'm doing this competitively I become a monster. I like the variety, the challenge, the pain. Should of done this a long time ago, so by now I'd be unstoppable. Great Book!

I was looking for a book that would answer some of the questions I had about getting ready for the tough mudder. While it's a short book it definitely opened the doors for me for next year. The book basically showed me that I was on the right path in my training for doing these events and gave me information on events I didn't even know about. So definitely worth the read.!

A great addition to your library

This is one of the most COMPLETE JKD books I have ever read. It has Jun Fan Gung Fu, grappling, kali, kickboxing, and everything else anyone could ever want in a JKD book. Also, it is VERY well written and has very helpful pictures. Mr. Balicki knows his stuff and it shows in this book. It has very helpful drills and techniques that can be easily learned and applied. It also has a cool (but not as helpful as I would have liked) section on handling group attacks. I highly recommend it!

Eclectic and interesting book

I'm a pretty eclectic martial artist myself, having trained in Okinawan, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, and western systems, including empty-handed and weapons-based styles, so the very eclectic aspect of this book didn't bother me as much as some people. For me it's all "sauce for the goose," as they say. If you have primarily trained in one or two arts, this book will expose you to some other concepts, which is fine, too. For me, the most important aspect of the book was the section devoted to multiple attackers. From my own experience in training and teaching martial arts, this area is one of the most neglected. Other than the classic Nakayama and Draeger book on defense against multiple assailants, which of course was Shotokan-based, and Bucksom Kong's Tiger-Crane set Hung Gar book, which showed some applications of the form, there are few books on the market covering situations with multiple attackers. But these scenarios should be practiced also, especially by advanced students who are already compentent defending man-on-man with one attacker.

This book is a must for any serious JKD Student. While it tends to be a little too philosophical it has great drills and training tips for any JKD practioner. I am an Asst. Instructor in JKD and I can tell you that I use a lot of the material from this book when I teach. Trust me get this Book!

Over the years, she traveled back and forth between Japan and Europe, as her employment and family duties took her, and lived in places as diverse as Italy and the drafty upper floor of a Buddhist temple.

A Child's Treasury of Japanese Fairy Tales

Originally published in 1903, Yei Theodora Ozaki's translation of Sadanami Sanjin's collection of Japanese fairy tales has been the introduction of many a young child into the legends and fables of old Japan across the years. Definitely not a scholarly reference or valuable research tool for folktale researchers, Ozaki unabashedly re-crafted some of the stories, translating loosely and adding in elements of unrelated tales, in order to make them more enjoyable and understandable for Western children. She even gave Urashimataro a happy ending!

There is something delightfully romantic about translations from this era, due to the unfamiliarity with Japanese culture at the time. Terms that would not be translated today, like "oni" and "samurai", are rendered as "ogre" and "knight" and other English equivalents. While unauthentic, this makes the stories more approachable by young children who have a mind for fantasy but haven't yet graduated to Japanese Studies.

While far from a picture book, artist Kakuzo Fujiyama contributed 66 beautiful drawings to illustrate the 22 tales. Unfortunately, all the illustrations are reproduced in black-and-white, instead of the original color plates included in the original pressings.

Many of the stories here are familiar with anyone even slightly interested in Japanese folklore. "Momotaro, or the Story of the Son of a Peach, "The Story of Urashima Taro, the Fisher Lad", "Kintaro the Golden Boy" and "The Ogre of Rashomon". Along with these, there are rarer tales that I haven't seen in any other Japanese fairy tale collection. "The Stones of Five Colors and the Empress Jokwa", "The Sagacious Monkey and the Boar" and "How and Old Man Lost his Wren" were all new to me.

the stories are wonderful. a few of them match some of the stoies we heard while living in Okinawa with the military.

HOWEVER, I cannot give the Kindle version a 5 star like I would like to, because the formatting is absolutely horrendous.

Japanese Fairy Tales, also known as The Japanese Fairy Book, is a 1908 collection of traditional fables and folktales compiled and translated by Yei Theodora Ozaki.

As I understand it, this is a somewhat liberal translation; accuracy to the source material has obviously been sacrificed to a certain extent for the sake of accessibility. Interestingly, words that would not be translated today are translated here for the sake of the Western audience ("samurai," for example, is translated "knight"). Many of these stories are not concise - they tend to meander - and some end rather abruptly. Without substantial familiarity with the original material, it's difficult to determine how much of this is the stories themselves and how much is Ozaki's doing, but I suspect the latter is more responsible.

These stories are, nevertheless, mostly quite enjoyable, and the differences and similarities with Western fairy tales are particularly interesting. (Wicked stepmothers, apparently, are a source of plot conflict the world over.)

Many of these stories are grim and violent, of the degree of the original un-sanitized Grimm Brothers' tales. There are vicious revenge stories here, and the ones involving animals bring to mind Tom and Jerry (or, perhaps more accurately, Itchy and Scratchy, never mind Happy Tree Friends), even with some obvious sanitizing ("The Farmer and the Badger" is a notable example). Many stories do not have happy endings. They certainly aren't all for small children.

Accuracy aside, Japanese Fairy Tales is a nice little collection of stories, and a decent introduction to Japanese folklore.

Intermittent Fasting Is A Great Way To Get Less Calories Without Any Fuss.

I really enjoyed this book.
I have slowly been gaining weight over the last 2 years and finally decided to do something about it. I have heard of intermittent fasting and wanted to learn a little more about it.
This book explains it very well and is very well written.
I am currently skipping breakfast and eating in an 8 hour window. This seemed strange at first but after about 4 or 5 days, it was no problem at all.
I am staying away from the carbs and have upped my proteins and fats which is making me a little cranky but it will be worth it in the long run.
This method of eating is much easier to plan my life around than weighing food and counting calories so I'm sure I will be able to stick at it long term,

A to Z on Intermittent Fasting

Over the past two years I have been living the Primal Lifestyle. There are people for and against this way of life; it works for me. I have more energy, less allergic reactions (used to impact me a lot) and I have shed body fat. One of the recommendations on Primal was to fast at least once a week. After doing this for a while I have read more about it and found Intermittent Fasting (IF) has become one of the newest trends that is resulting in increased benefits. After reading many posts about IF on the Internet I decided to read a book on the subject to get the A to Z.

It is a pretty quick read and covers all of the topics from what fasting is, the different types of fasting, how to approach it, the rules and how it impacts on your daily life whether that be working or exercising. For example, if you want to have a cheat day where you indulge there is an approach you can take. The book isn't heavily technical but does give you a flavour for what is happening at the hormonal level and its impact to body's functions.

I would recommend this book as a starting point for anyone looking to understand and try out Intermittent Fasting.

1. Types of Intermittent Fasting (i.e. Leangains, Eat Stop Eat, The Warrior Diet, Fat Loss Forever). Choosing an approach depends on how you work and whether you can fast for long periods of time. For example if you want a day to indulge with food then one type of intermittent fasting may be more beneficial
2. Impact of Growth Hormone (GH) when fasting. One of the big fallacies of fasting is that it impacts on muscle growth. Apparently your growth hormone increases during sleep, when you work out on an empty stomach and during/post fasting.
3. Incorporating high interval training (HIT) on your cheat days is beneficial to reduce the impact of a high calorie day

A really excellent guide!

This is an excellent book. This book is very helpful and well written. It contains proven steps on how to get healthy now. This book clearly explains the science behind intermittent fasting weight loss, and why it is so effective. It introduces different intermittent fasting methods, and help you choose which one is best for you. Intermittent fasting is proven safe and effective in weight loss, and improve your over all body health.. This is an amazing challenge to build lean muscle and this helpful guidebook showed me the right path and effective techniques. This book walks you step by step through each aspect of intermittent fasting, explaining the benefits, why it works, and different ways of making it fit into your lifestyle. This book has explained thoroughly the whole idea of intermittent fasting. Overall it's a great book.

Tasted Jerky like never before! It's just yummy!!

I love jerky. It's loaded with protein and makes an ideal snack. I was really surprised to know that there are 60 different recipes of jerky. All the recipes seem simple. I have tried garlic pepper blast jerky. It was filled with flavor and it's delicious. I am inspired to try the rest of them. When it comes to cheese I always thought that it a painstaking process. But the recipes are simple.
