Judith Cullen is a theatre artist from the Pacific Northwest with over 25 years of experience as a designer, production manager, administrator, and producer for theatre and opera. Since 2008 she has worked as a volunteer presenting literature live in the online metaverse of Second Life ©, logging in over 500 hours to benefit a variety of charities including War Child North America, Project Children, and Habitat for Humanity under the avatar identity Caledonia Skytower. Ms. Cullen has recently profoundly expanded her skill sets, transforming her professional theatre experience, combined with her work as a virtual storyteller, into a refreshed career as a narrator, voice artist, and author. Her published "Trio Tales" series are intended as fictional, short story monographs on a single theme, making them ideal for kindle use or portable reading. Perfect for an afternoon read

After thoroughly enjoying her first Irish Tales book, I admit I was looking forward to her next installment. I also had the usually trepidations to see if the book would be as good as expected. I was not disappointed!
Her short stories can best be described, by my way of thinking, as urban fantasy. She is able take the mundane world around us and suggests that there is more going on around us than we notice, if we would only take the time to look. As the title demonstrates there are three stories in the collection, each dealing with vastly different ideas, all set within modern day Ireland. Each is a classic representation of the short story with difficulties, and lessons learned without them weighing down the telling. The characters are believable and easy to relate to, giving the book a true feeling of a tale being told from one person to another. The difficulties, while fantastic, are not horrific making the book suitable for any age.
I found the stories to be engrossing and thoroughly enjoyable and perfect for an afternoon read. It is a book I am sure to soon pick up again.
