More than a nostalgic nod to a much loved game, Full Color Electric Football deftly documents the rise of pro football, the equally innovative (and competitive ) path of iconic toy companies like Tudor, whose evolution changed their game as much as, say, the no huddle offense shifted the NFL's gears. I can't say enough about this book and what joy it brings to me as I look through the beautiful photographs of fields, teams, box artwork and ads that not only trace the game of electric football but the history of football itself! The artwork on the old fields pictured in the book not only capture the game, but the outside frame of the field from each new year expressed the artwork of those times. The photos in Full Color Electric Football show brilliantly all the beauty of these games and bring back memories not only of the electric football game I had as a child, but memories from watching the NFL on TV throughout the years and all the exciting unforgettable games that were played. Electric football allowed me to replay those games on my living room floor and gave me the chance to keep my heroes playing long past their actual retirements.

About the Author
Earl Shores and Roddy Garcia have chased the story of Electric Football for more than two decades. During that time they authored numerous articles about the electric football for publications ranging from the Beckett Football Monthly to Toy Shop, and have been interviewed by print and video media on both the national and local level.
With the help of Marvel designer Michael Kronenberg, Shores and Garcia published the The Unforgettable Buzz: The History of Electric Football and Tudor Games in 2013. This first book ever published on the topic of Electric Football received great acclaim, even being used in the classroom at the University of Central Florida.
Full Color Electric Football marks the second offering from the Shores, Garcia, Kronenberg writing and design team. It was a natural offshoot from the narrative-based Buzz, with an all-photo format that fully takes advantage of Michael Kronenberg's extraordinary design skills.

The steel gridiron in glorious HD. WINNER!!

As a fan of The Unforgettable Buzz, I didn't think another book on electric football could grab my attention the way "the buzz" did. I was seriously mistaken and gladly so. Full Color Electric Football is the buzz on steroids. The true glory of the steel gridiron is brought to life through page-after-page of closeup color photos that provide the reader super cool detail of the players, the boards and Lee Payne's amazing designs. The authors pay homage to many legendary NFL and AFL games by recreating them in full color on classic gameboards. The history of this great game so many of us grew up loving is placed on a much deserved pedestal in this beautifully designed tribute to America's real pastime. Shores, Garcia and Kronenberg tell a story that will be enjoyed by all generations. I know I'd be thrilled to find this one under my tree this season.

I gave this book to my brother who grew up playing electric football. The nostalgia overwhelmed him. I think I saw tears welling up in his eyes but he turned away before I could make fun of him. I'm so glad I found this beautiful book for him.

Absolutely wonderful book. Brings back so many great childhood memories and serves as a great history of the NFL and it's rise in television as well.
